Cet indicateur de trafic détermine le temps de croisements et d’expédition des trains. Il est doté d’une pile d’ordinateurs affichant le nombre des trains, lesquels permettent de connaître leur temps de parcours d’un lieu à un autre ; leur temps d’attente dans une gare et leur temps de parcours total.
En son sein, des équipes des techniciens rompus à la tâche ; la salle des opérations qui l’abrite dispose des logiciels de sécurisation de dernière génération tels, que TCS ; ATTRAC et VIRIATO, fruits des efforts consentis par le groupe Eramet, l’unique actionnaire, soucieux de moderniser l’outil de pilotage du Transgabonais.
Le Cotraf, instrument de technologie moderne est conçu, outre pour les raisons de sécurité et de gestion des mouvements des trains, mais également pour aider les opérateurs économiques à mieux gérer le trafic de leur marchandise par un suivi des paramètres et des indications de performances. Il demeure un outil clé de l’activité ferroviaire. Aujourd’hui, les trains plus longs et plus lourds sont en trafic, l’objectif étant d’occuper moins des sillons. Ce souci d’efficacité a eu comme exigence, la réduction des distances de croisements.
Avec ces innovations de la direction technique de SETRAG, l’entreprise a de quoi être compétitive et satisfaire sa clientèle qui grandit au fil du temps.
