La chambre de commerce du Gabon a refusé du monde à l’occasion de la rentrée politique 2023 de l’Union Nationale (UN). Un rendez-vous tant attendu par les membres et sympathisants de cette formation politique de l’opposition présidée par Paulette Missambo qui d’entrée de jeu, a planté le décor.
« Cette rentrée politique n’est pas un moment ordinaire. Au cours de l’année 2023 qui arrive, les Gabonaises et les Gabonais seront appelés aux urnes pour élire les conseillers municipaux, les députés et le président de la République. À travers ces trois élections se jouera l’avenir de notre pays pour plusieurs décennies. Dans cette perspective, le moment est venu de tracer les contours de notre action commune », a précisé la Présidente de l’UN.
Poursuivant, Paulette Missambo a fait ressortir quelques faits ayant marqué les précédentes élections en République Gabonaise: « l’Union Nationale a donc choisi de sortir de son siège pour s’adresser au pays et à sa classe politique, pour partager sa vision avec tous. En 2009 comme en 2016, le peuple gabonais a clairement rejeté dans les urnes un choix qui lui a malheureusement été imposé par la force des armes, et avec la complicité des femmes et des hommes qui étaient en charge de la conduite du processus électoral. Depuis le mois d’octobre 2018, une imposture, que nul ne conteste plus, s’est installée à la tête de l’État. A raison, nos compatriotes peinent à savoir qui décide pour eux et pour le Gabon ».
C’est d’ailleurs pour cette raison que Jean Christophe Owono Nguema, le Représentant provincial de l’Union Nationale dans le septentrion reconnaissant que « l’année 2023 est une année chargée et délicate pour notre pays, c’est un tournant important par ce que nous avons trois élections majeures: les présidentielles, les législatives et les locales. Donc pour nous, cette rentrée politique est très importante pour l’avenir non seulement du Gabon mais aussi pour notre parti », a par la suite affirmé que « le Woleu-Ntem se prépare sereinement car cette province a toujours été à l’avant-garde du changement dans ce pays donc comme nous l’avons fait en 2009 et en 2016, nous allons le confirmer en 2023 car nous voulons le changement dans ce pays et nous avons tous les atouts; et l’UN est prête pour aller au combat avec tous les autres partis de l’opposition ».
Arguant que près de 34% des gabonais n’ont pu s’inscrire sur les listes électorales, et que 43% des inscrits ont opté pour l’abstention en 2016, Paulette Missambo la Présidente de l’Union Nationale a proposé une stratégie pour que les échéances de 2023 soient différentes: « je lance un appel pressant à tous les partis signataires du Mémorandum pour une réforme du système électoral national, au parti REAGIR ainsi qu’à tous les patriotes qui adhèrent à cette initiative, afin que nous nous accordions sur les principes, objectifs et actions à mener ensemble en vue d’obtenir l’organisation d’élections libres, transparentes et apaisées en 2023. Sans tabou, nous devons ouvrir une discussion sur la reconstruction de l’État et de la République ».
Décriant par la même occasion le taux de chômage qui avoisine les 38%, ainsi que les crises multiformes que connait le pays, la Présidente de l’Union Nationale a invité les partis de opposition à mutualiser leurs énergies en vue d’atteindre cet idéal commun qu’est l’alternance: « Si nous devons impulser le renouvellement de notre pratique politique, nous devons aussi arrêter un programme commun de gouvernement. Nous devons le faire dans le respect des identités de nos organisations respectives. En un mot, nous devons conclure un « Pacte de confiance. » Voilà pourquoi, […] j‘en appelle au rassemblement et à l’unité de toutes les forces de l’opposition pour travailler ensemble à l’avènement de l’alternance démocratique en 2023″, a conclu Paulette Missambo.
