C’est Jérôme Cantian, le Secrétaire général de la Setrag représentant Christian Magni le directeur général empêché, qui a procédé au lancement de la compagne de sécurité ferroviaire en présence du représentant du secrétaire exécutif de l’Autorité de Régulation de Transport Ferroviaire, de la directrice du Développement Durable, du directeur de la Sécurité Ferroviaire Ludovic Megne et des agents sensibilisateurs.
Cette opération des agents sensibilisateurs couvrira un rayon de 27 kilomètres, dans les zones d’Owendo, à Nkok1. Leurs principales cibles, les communautés riveraines et les établissements scolaires lors de la prochaine rentrée de classe.
Débutée le 8 aout 2023 avec la formation des agents sensibilisateurs, la campagne de Sécurité Ferroviaire est un moyen important de sensibiliser les communautés à la sécurité ferroviaire, de prévenir les accidents des personnes, des automobiles et interpeller les comportements prohibés lors des heurts d’animaux.
Durant cette campagne qui dure trois mois, les agents sensibilisateurs visiteront les passages à niveau et les pistes clandestines où ils mettront un accent particulier sur les intrusions dans le domaine ferroviaire.
Pour rappel, la Setrag a sensibilisé en 2022 44.467 personnes riveraines et 3.484 élèves de 18 établissements. Pour leur sécurité, la Setrag rappelle la nécessité d’utiliser les passerelles pour les traversées piétonnes de la voie et de ne point s’approcher d’un train en stationnement ou en circulation.
