Avant d’entrer dans le vif du sujet, Yves Fernand MANFOUMBI le Président du Conseil des Ministres de la ZLECAf a tenu à saluer la présence remarquée de quelques membres du gouvernement : « cette présence de haut niveau témoigne de l’importance que consacre la République Gabonaise et le Président de la République, Chef de l’État, Son Excellence Ali BONGO ONDIMBA, tant au processus d’intégration continentale de l’Union Africaine qu’au processus de l’Accord portant création de la Zone de Libre Échange Continentale Africaine », a t-il déclaré.
Devant les Ministres du Commerce des 54 États africains, Yves Fernand MANFOUMBI le Président du Conseil des Ministres de la ZLECAf a présenté le bienfondé de l’action commune en faveur non seulement des opérateurs économique, mais aussi des États membres: « cette perspective vise à mettre à la disposition des opérateurs économiques, du secteur privé en général et de tous les acteurs impliqués dans l’objectif d’accroitre les échanges commerciaux intra-africains, les outils juridiques et opérationnels pour la mise en œuvre de l’accord sur la ZLECAf mais également surtout pour l’exploitation et l’usage des préférences commerciales qu’il offre pour l’essor économique et le développement de notre continent ».
Toujours au chapitre des discours avant les travaux à huis clos, le Secrétaire Général de la ZLECAf a dit sa volonté de peser de tout son poids pour la réussite de cette organisation: « Pour l’avenir, en tant que Secrétaire général de la ZLECAf, je m’engage à renforcer le dialogue politique stratégique avec les États membres pour atteindre les objectifs de la ZLECAf et relever nos défis communs. Plus précisément, nous allons accélérer les travaux pour conclure les deux protocoles de la Phase II en suspens, à savoir les femmes et les jeunes dans le commerce et le commerce numérique, en temps utile pour leur mise en œuvre », a promis WAMKELE MENE.
Un engament qui naturellement a rafraichit les participants déterminés à atteindre leurs objectifs communs. l’heure de la ,prise de décisions approchant, « je souhaite à cette 1ère session extraordinaire du Conseil des ministres des délibérations fructueuses et j’attends avec impatience vos décisions et des résultats positifs qui approfondiront et renforceront notre programme d’intégration continental », a t-il conclu.
La visite des stands mettant en évidence le savoir-faire gabonais a mis un terme à la première partie des activités.
