Cette interdiction permettait donc de transformer sur la place, les matières premières extraites au Gabon, de diversifier davantage l’économie et d’assurer sa montée en gamme, tout en créant localement des produits à plus forte valeur ajoutée destinés au marché national, régional, continental et international: toute chose devant participer à la création d’emplois qualifiés.
Considéré comme une « superpuissance verte », le Gabon, pays clé dans le dossier du climat et modèle en matière de préservation de sa forêt, a transformé en quelques années, son modèle économique pour allier croissance et environnement, dans l’optique de préparer sereinement l’après-pétrole.
