Tel est le slogan de la Setrag pour lutter contre les cancers masculins dont la salle des fêtes a récemment abrité un séminaire d’information à l’intention des travailleurs à l’occasion de Novembre Bleu qui tenait sa 5ème édition en terre gabonaise.
Occasion pour des nombreux travailleurs de la Setrag de s’imprégner des causes et mesures de prophylaxie de ce terrible mal qui est la première cause de décès avec 5OOO victimes en 2022 dans notre pays.
Il faut rappeler que Novembre Bleu a vu le jour il y a 20 ans en Australie pour lutter contre les cancers de la prostate, de testicule et du pénis qui sont des cancers masculins. Lesquels touchent des personnes âgées de plus de 50 ans, celles ayant des antécédents familiaux, des appartenances ethniques.
Les personnes sédentaires, obèses, ou celles exerçant dans des pesticides et métaux lourds, mais également celles consommant l’alcool et tabac ou encore infectées des IST sont susceptibles de développer un cancer de la prostate.
Selon le Dr.Francky Iwangou Moussavoult les symptômes des maladies prostatiques sont la difficulté d’uriner, miction nocturne, sang dans les urines et jet faible ou brulures mictionnelles. L’adénome de la prostate qui signifie grossissement normal lié à l’âge se manifeste par de miction répétée le jour et la nuit, et ayant un jet faible. La prostatite se manifeste quant à elle par des brûlures mictionnelles.
Tous ces cancers de la prostate se traitent soit par la chirurgie prostatectomie totale, la curiethérapie, la radiothérapie, la chimiothérapie ou l’hormonothérapie suppresseur de la testostérone. Mais pour les spécialistes, le meilleur moyen de lutte contre les cancers masculins demeure la prévention qui doit ménager le rapport entre la taille de l’abdomen et celui de la prostate, en réduisant les signes de prostatisme par une pratique régulière de sport et de lutter contre le tabagisme et l’alcoolisme, mais également consommer beaucoup des tomates, les bricolis et les jus de gingembre.
L’autre type de cancer est celui du testicule, bien que moins fréquent est plutôt rare, et touche l’homme le plus jeune ayant une moyenne d’âge qui varie de 15 à 40 ans et dont les facteurs à risque sont la consommation du cannabis, des antécédents familiaux lequel se caractérise par l’atrophie testiculaire, le testicule non descendu à la naissance ou le syndrome de trisomie.
Pour s’en apercevoir, les symptômes peuvent être une masse palpable, dure et indolore ; le gros testicule avec sensation de lourdeur ou douleur : douleurs lombaires ou hypertrophie lombaire. Pour ce type de cancer, le traitement passe par une chirurgie orchidectomie totale, une chimiothérapie adjuvante ou l’hormonothérapie suppresseur de la testostérone. Comme son homologue de la prostate, le cancer du testicule peut être prévenu en luttant contre le tabagisme et l’alcoolisme, en s’alimentant sainement et en pratiquant régulièrement une activité sportive.
Pour dépister ces cancers, les médecins procèdent aux tests de palpation ou autopalpation, la transillumination, l’échographie testiculaire ou autre radiographie, ou le dosage marqueurs tumoraux.
Selon le Dr. Francky Iwangou Moussavoult animateur dudit seminaire,la lutte contre les cancers masculins passe par la prévention, car il est important d’en parler, de procéder au dépistage précoce et de mener une hygiène de vie en mangeant sainement, de pratiquer une activité sportive, d’arrêter de boire ou de fumer, et de veiller à son bien-être.
