C’est en définitive un outil qui vient appuyer la lutte contre les violences faites à la gente féminine et selon les initiateurs, « la démarche s’inscrit dans la continuité de l’adoption et de la promulgation de la loi portant élimination des violences faites aux femmes et de la mise en application des recommandations de la stratégie de réduction des inégalités de genre au Gabon, dont le rapport avait mis en exergue un état des lieux très préoccupant des grossesses précoces à l’échelle nationale ».
Les grossesses précoces sont donc une menace pour le parcours scolaire de la jeune fille confrontée à la déperdition scolaire, l’absentéisme et un fort taux d’échec. Les chiffres sont alarmants car près de 50% des filles de 15 à 19 ans se retrouvent enceintes et plus 50% des élèves-mères redoublent la classe à défaut d’abandonner.
La Première Dame Sylvia Bongo Ondimba présente à cette cérémonie, soucieuse du bien-être de la jeune gabonaise a laissé parler son cœur: “je suis personnellement profondément meurtrie chaque fois que je rencontre une jeune fille, une petite fille, en âge d’être à l’école, enceinte ou mère. Malheureusement, toutes nos provinces sont touchées par cette problématique de grossesses précoces, qui concerne plus de la moitié des filles gabonaises, âgées de 15 à 19 ans. Nous mobiliser sur cette cause, c’est notre façon de vous dire que vous les jeunes, vous comptez pour nous, que votre présent et votre avenir ont de l’importance à nos yeux”, a expliqué Sylvia Bongo Ondimba la Première Dame.
Il convient ici de noter que « les grossesses précoces sont également le témoin de l’importance et de la banalisation des violences sexuelles en milieu scolaire, puisque les relations intergénérationnelles, consenties ou issues d’un rapport de domination, sont à l’origine d’environ 40% des grossesses précoces ». Toutefois, « plus de 80% des filles accompagnées sont désormais maintenues en situation de scolarité. Ainsi, aux examens de juin 2022, le taux de réussite aux examens (BEPC et BAC) des élèves enceintes ou mamans accompagnées était de 54% (contre 62% pour les autres élèves) ».
Rappelons qu’avec « Gabon Égalité », » le déploiement d’un programme de sensibilisation à l’éducation sexuelle et aux grossesses précoces auprès de 34 000 adolescents et jeunes des établissements de l’Estuaire, de l’Ogooué-Maritime, de la Ngounié, de la Nyanga et du Moyen-Ogooué et de 10 000 parents » a été rendu possible par le biais des campagnes de sensibilisations et d’information.
