C’est ainsi que sur les 378 votants, le Pasteur Francis Omvane le candidat du Haut-Ntem à Minvoul a eu 147 voix contre 223 pour le Pasteur Louis Sylvain Allogo Engo du Woleu à Oyem.
Avec sérénité, le pasteur Louis Sylvain Allogo Engo fraîchement élu a affirmé : « Aujourd’hui est un jour historique pour notre église, parce que nous venons de marquer le nouveau départ : tout se passe le dimanche pour le départ et tout fini un dimanche, jour de résurrection. Ce synode marque ainsi la résurrection de l’église évangélique du Gabon. Je ne peux que rendre gloire à Dieu, et féliciter tous les fidèles de notre église qui ont fléchi les genoux pour sa réussite […] Nous avons maintenant besoin de toutes les forces et tous les fils de l’église afin qu’ensemble, nous puissions travailler dans l’unité et dans la paix pour le relèvement ce cette église », a expliqué le nouveau Président.
Pour Augustin Bouengoune le président du comité d’organisation et ex Président de l’EEG, « le scrutin s’est passé dans la transparence totale et personne ne peut douter de cette transparence. Personne n’a gagné, c’est Jésus qui a gagné et nous sommes satisfaits ».
Une satisfaction qui donnera lieu à un culte ce lundi dès 14h en la chapelle Baraka-Mission, avec l’installation du nouveau Président dans ses nouvelles fonctions et probablement son équipe ; la liesse des délégations ayant effectué le déplacement de de Libreville sera incontestable.
