Daniel Kablan Duncan, le vice-président ivoirien a démissionné de son poste évoquant les raisons de convenances personnelles. Une démission acceptée par le Président Ivoirien Alassane Dramane Ouattara qui a lui-même, signé le document qui a rendu libre de tout engagement le désormais ex- Vice Président. Un acte de courage et de responsabilité pour certains, mais des supputations demeurent dans sa famille politique étant entendu que les raisons évoquées pour beaucoup ne semblent pas convaincre.
Le vice-président de Côte d’Ivoire, Daniel Kablan Duncan, 77 ans, a démissionné de son poste. L’annonce en a été faite lundi 13 juillet par le secrétaire général de la présidence Patrick Achi, alors que le pays est en deuil après le décès du premier ministre Amadou Gon Coulibaly le 8 juillet.
« Le vice-président Daniel Kablan Duncan a remis au président de la République sa démission (…) pour des raisons de convenance personnelle le 27 février (…). Après plusieurs entretiens dont le dernier a eu le 7 juillet, le président Alassane Ouattara a pris acte et procédé le 8 juillet à la signature d’un décret mettant fin aux fonctions de M. Kablan Duncan », affirme un communiqué lu par Patrick Achi. « Le président de la République voudrait rendre hommage à un grand serviteur de l’Etat, un homme de pouvoir et d’engagement », selon le texte.
Si les rumeurs de démission de M. Kablan Duncan circulaient depuis plusieurs jours, ce départ reste une surprise. Jusqu’à récemment, M. Kablan Duncan était considéré comme un proche du président Ouattara, même s’il appartenait au Parti démocratique de Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI), formation ancienne alliée d’Alassane Ouattara passée dans l’opposition en 2018.
