Le Général Brice Oligui Nguema, le président du Comité de la transition et de la restauration des institutions (CTRI) a reçu la presse le 2 septembre 2023 au Palais de la Présidence de la République, les acteurs de la presse. C’était l’occasion pour les hommes de média d’exposer leurs préoccupations au président de la Transition, en vue de l’amélioration de leurs conditions de travail.
Il a notamment été question de l’accès aux sources de l’information qui fait défaut; le manque de moyens roulants et certaines facilités dans l’exercice de leur métier; la subvention dont le montant ne cesse de dégringoler; l’aide à la presse quasi inexistante et le manque de considération pour les acteurs des médias.
Sans occulter l’absence d’ une convention collective des journalistes et la lutte contre leur clochardisation, imposer le passage de la publicité aux multinationales sans oublier le régime fiscal qui doit tenir compte des réalités de la presse seraient un début de solution au chapelet de problèmes auquel la presse fait face.
À toutes ces préoccupations le général Brice Oligui Nguema a promis trouver des solutions urgentes afin de redorer le blason du 4e pouvoir au Gabon.« Vous êtes un facteur déterminant vers le changement du Gabon… Le métier de la presse doit être respecté et mis en valeur, car l’écriture et la parole sont des armes qui peuvent détruire lorsqu’ils sont mal utilisés », a dit le Président de la transition.
Avant d’ajouter: « je suis pour la liberté de la presse. Écrivez tout ce que vous voulez à condition que ce soit vrai. Je pense que le journaliste a assez souffert. Des véhicules vous seront offerts pour vous faciliter les déplacements ».
En attendant la matérialisation dans les faits, les acteurs de la presse ont dit leur reconnaissance au Président Brice Oligui Nguema pour toutes les bonnes actions déjà en projet.
