Devant réunir les partis politiques de l’opposition et de la majorité au pouvoir, cette séance de travail stratégique au premier abord, n’a pas tenu compte de la société civile pourtant partie intégrante du processus de gestion de la cité: ce qui surprend à plus d’un titre le COTED qui s’en indigne: « le COTED, par ma voix, salue chaleureusement cette annonce. Cependant, il s’interroge de la manière dont elle est faite en omettant de faire référence à la société civile », s’est inquiété le révérend Georges Bruno Ngoussi, Président du COTED, rappelant que « le COTED souligne le caractère très important de considérer le triptyque démocratique majorité au pouvoir, opposition et société civile comme base ‘sine qua non’ pour la réussite de toute concertation démocratique« .
Poursuivant dans sa logique, le Président du COTED propose à la classe politique nationale de « faire preuve de responsabilité en définissant clairement et dès à présent, le format et les véritables acteurs concernés par cette concertation. Le format qui a toujours été utilisé lors des dialogues antérieurs dont les actes tardent à se matérialiser, a déjà montré ses limites », a t-il renchéri.
Au de cette conférence de presse, la question liée à la nécessité de modifier la loi électorale a été évoquée; et pour répondre à ceux qui estiment qu’il est trop tard pour y penser, le COTED pense le contraire: « nous avons remarqué que la loi électorale a souvent été modifiée parfois à trois ou un mois des élections. Donc l’engagement des lois et leur matérialisation est une question de volonté politique car si nous avons la volonté d’améliorer le processus, nous allons reformer même à deux semaines des élections » a précisé Paul Aimé Bagafou, le le Secrétaire Exécutif Adjoint du COTED.
Au terme de cette conférence de presse, le COTED par la voix de son Président Georges Bruno Ngoussi a dit « poursuivre ses activités en vue de l’atteinte totale de objectifs qu’il s’est assignés ».
