A l’ouverture du One Forest Summit, le Gabon sous l’ère d’Ali Bongo Ondimba, plusieurs fois primé à l’international pour le travail abattu dans la préservation de la forêt et la promotion des effets induits, a encore fait es envieux.
Selon l’hôte de cette rencontre, « ce sommet « One Forest » est également l’occasion de nous pencher sur l’exploitation durable de nos forêts et sur sa valorisation sur le plan social, sociétal mais aussi financier, en juste retour des immenses services rendus à notre Planète et notre Humanité »a précisé Ali Bongo Ondimba.
Convaincu des choix opérés pour la protection et la préservation des forêts, Ali Bongo Ondimba maintient le cap: « nos forêts sont une solution. Une solution à la double crise du climat et de la biodiversité, deux des principaux enjeux du siècle. En préservant nos forêts, en renforçant nos connaissances à leur sujet, ce sont nos populations, rurales en particulier que nous protégeons ; mais aussi l’avenir de nos enfants que nous garantissons », a expliqué le Chef de l’État gabonais.
Pour Ali Bongo Ondimba, le rôle de la foret est primordial car selon lui, « elles permettent de filtrer la pollution, de limiter l’ampleur des catastrophes naturelles, telles que les inondations, d’en atténuer les effets dévastateurs […] Il n’ y a pas meilleur investissement aujourd’hui que l’investissement dans nos forêts ».
Avec son vaste étendu forestier et ses 13 parcs nationaux, le Gabon est un acteur majeur dans la lutte contre les changements climatiques. Par conséquent, « il faut que nous en fassions prendre conscience. Et il faut que nous en tirions les conséquences. Toutes les conséquences. Afin qu’utilité écologique rime enfin avec rentabilité économique », a précisé le Chef de l’État, Ali Bongo Ondimba.
